Bulawayo’s creative scene is gaining fresh momentum as two young talents channel social media growth and personal resilience into wider recognition.
Samantha Moyo, a social work student and content creator, has attracted about 26,000 followers on TikTok by sharing lifestyle-focused videos. Her growing audience is now pushing her to think beyond short clips and aim for larger opportunities in the digital entertainment space.
Meanwhile, rapper and producer Blessing Banda, known professionally as Tojey Blox, has turned a serious setback into motivation. After a robbery threatened to derail his music journey, he has since found himself in the company of international stars such as Ne-Yo and Cassper Nyovest, signalling a promising shift for the Bulawayo-based artist.
Both stories highlight a broader wave of young Zimbabweans using online platforms and sheer determination to overcome local challenges and reach new audiences.
