Sources say Mzembi, once a prominent figure in the G40 faction and a former Masvingo South legislator, has been left with nothing and is currently residing with his nephew in Harare. The property saga adds to his troubles following his return from self-exile in June 2025 and subsequent arrest on criminal abuse of office charges, from which he was acquitted in May 2026. He then sold the Treasury Bills at a 50% discount for US$690,959, using the proceeds to purchase two vehicles for Chubb Security. The money was never recovered.
